Over the past few weeks since it has been nice outside, we have had the opportunity to take Savannah to Deming Park. She absolutely loves it, especially the slides. The very first time we went, she immediately climbed the stairs and went to the BIG slide. She did not hesitate one bit, she just sat down and went. Mommy was a little nervous, but luckily Savannah loved it and did not stop smiling the whole time there. Of course, daddy had his enjoyment as well. We all loved playing and being outside on a warm afternoon.
Of course after awhile, Savannah got a little daring and decided she was going to go down on her belly.

A few weeks ago, we traveled to Nanny's house in Brownsburg. Nanny was babysitting for Chloe and Libby. Savannah always has a good time when playing with her cousins. Here they are playing Ring Around the Rosey. Notice how Savannah cheats and falls down early before she is suppose to. Oh yeah, and notice how since she has no other siblings at this point, she just turns in circles by herself while the cousins actually walk in a full circle.

Savannah loves to go around the house and take a towel or cloth and clean everything. Where she picked or learned this from, we don't know. Here she is cleaning in the kitchen and then she decides to clean her body as well. There is sound if you have the volume turned up. Enjoy and get a good laugh.

Cooking and Cleaning

The other night we were all home together as a family and we were all craving sweets. We made the decision to bake a cake. Savannah decided she wanted to help mommy. After making a little mess and Savannah pouring the oil all down the front of herself, we stirred the batter, poured in a pan, and baked in the oven.
Mommy let Savannah lick the leftover batter off of the whisk. Savannah really enjoyed and thought it was funny.
Daddy always gets the bowl of batter when mommy is done with it. Daddy was trying to teach Savannah how to take her finger wipe the bowl and then lick her finger. This was working until....Savannah decided she had a much easier way of getting the batter out. She decided it was better to just stick the bowl over head and lick the bowl with her tongue. She is too smart and funny and just cracked me and daddy up.Let me tell you the cake was delicious and hit just the right spot. After our treat, it was time to do some dishes. Savannah loves helping with "dirty dishes." She gets her stool and climbs up right beside you. Most of the time she stirs in the water with something or she also likes to take either cups or straws put them under water and then dump it on her head. By the time we are done, she is usually soaked and ready for another outfit.

Is SPRING really here?

Since the last 2 days have been warm, we have ventured outside. Savannah got this power wheel toy for Christmas. She has not been too fond of it in the house, but the minute we took it outside it became her favorite. She rides on it and pushes the button on her own for about 5-10 minutes. After this time, she says "help me" and holds out her thumb as if it is too tired to push the button any longer. She is quite comical these days.

Little Miss Independant

Here Savannah is trying to put her pants on all by herself. Almost 19 months old, thinking she is 19 years old, she is quite the independant little thing. She gets into her drawers in her room and empties them out and pulls out all the socks. She continues to try and put pants and socks on, but has not succeeded at this time. However, it does distract her for a long period of time giving mommy and daddy a break. As you notice in some of these pictures, Savannah continues to use a pacifier. We are now in the process of eliminating it. She is only allowed to have it at naps, bedtime, and in the car. In a few weeks, mommy is on vacation and we are going to attempt to take it away at all times. Stay tuned and we will update you on this.

Experience with 2 kids:)

This past week we had the joy of babysitting Laynie from Wednesday night until Saturday. I remind you Laynie is now 3, almost 4 years old and Savannah is 18 months. We are only used to having 1 child around, so having 2 was quite different and a good experience. Now we know what to look forward to when we have a second child. We still have some time though. The first night we had her I had to work, so that left Ricky all alone with the 2. Can you picture this? Ricky with 2? These 2 girls are his favorite and he makes up by being a kid with them. Laynie must have gotten out of Savannah's bed and climbed into bed with Ricky and Savannah throughout the night. So when I arrived at home that next morning, I find Ricky, Savannah, and Laynie all in our bed. The funny thing is Ricky was in the middle and barely had room to move. The girls were all over the bed and on him. Wish I could have gotten a picture. That left me to sleep on the futon and Ricky actually woke up and joined me on the futon leaving the girls in our bed.Thursday the girls got to play around the house and outside for a bit while I got to sleep a little. Let me remind you 2 kids make the house a disaster. It gets bad enough with just one, but 2 man it is a pig sty. Here Laynie is being motherly and pulling Savannah around in her wagon. Later that night we headed to Avon and went to Chuckie Cheese. Neither kid or us parents had been to Chuckie Cheese before. Well Ricky and I have been there, but could not tell you when the last time was. Most likely several years ago when we were these kids ages. We were not too impressed either. What happen to the ball pit, where you got to jump in, that was the best. Chuckie Cheese has sure changed since our days.



The girls really enjoyed riding and getting to drive in the cars. The shook and vibrated and tossed them around a little. Here Savannah is enjoying digging with Bob the Builder.

Laynie loved playing the games where you got to beat things on the head when they popped up.

I love playing ski ball so we attempted to all play. However, Savannah made this a challenge. Instead of throwing the ball and rolling it, she liked to climb up the row and place the ball in the holes. Yes, you got more points but that is not how this game works. So here I am trying to pull her back.

Since we were in Indy that night and we don't have a Dunkin Donuts (Ricky's favorite place) in Terre Haute we decided to get some donuts for breakfast on Friday. What a good and healthy breakfast for the kids. They loved there glazed and chocolate donut holes.

After breakfast, we headed to the Children's Museum for the afternoon. The girls really enjoyed playing at the museum. Savannah especially enjoyed all the climbing. My favorite is the one above where she is coming out of the dog house. She continued to say "puppy, puppy." Laynie enjoyed herself as well. They both loved playing at the water tables. We all had an awesome time and were all exhausted after this fun trip. We really enjoyed being able to spend time with both of the girls. It was a joy to see them having such a good time.

Laundry Days

Like I have said in previous blogging, Savannah is such a big helper. The other day I was doing some laundry and she insisted on helping me. So here she is carrying her own pile of clothes to the laundry room. She then climbs up on a box and places her clothes into the washing machine. When the clothes are done washing she also helps me dry, fold them and put them away.
