Rain, Rain Go Away!

This past weekend, we had a great time even though it practically rained all weekend. We ended up just staying home. Saturday was supposed to be a good day without any rain (according to the weather people), however, it rained pretty much all day. We started off with a little musical show from Savannah. She decided to be a one man band and play her new drum. What was mommy thinking when she thought this would be a cool toy for Savannah? She marches around the house banging on the drum.

Here we are watching a movie. This first picture, Austin looks a little scared of his sister. Do you blame him? Actually, I think Savannah is one of Austin's favorite things right now. He will just sit and stare at her and watch every move she makes. She is in for some trouble when he decides to get up crawl and just follow her around. For now, she loves to talk to him and make him smile.

Later in the day, we got tired of sitting and playing in the house. Mommy decided that we should all head outside and have a little fun.Here is Savannah in her outside attire. Her rubber boots and her Little Mermaid umbrella were perfect for the occassion. At first she was a little hesitant about what mommy was about to let her do. By the end, we had to drag her in the house.

Here she is running through some puddles. Since it was sprinkling she insisted on carrying her umbrella. Savannah then ditched the umbrella and daddy instructed her how to jump and skip through the puddles. She absolutely loved to splish and splash.

This is Savannah towards the end. She is drinched and loving every moment.

Giving daddy a big sloppy wet hug and kiss. Daddy and Savannah tried to hug mommy, but mommy made a run for it. Mommy was warm and dry just in case Austin decided to wake early from his nap. I hope that now every time it rains that Savannah does not think that we need to go and play in the puddles. We had a great time, but only on special occassions can we do this. We will see what Savannah thinks next time she sees it is raining.

2 Months Old Already

With it being May 3, 2010, Austin is now officially 2 months old. Last week, we went to his 2 month check up. He weighed in at 12 pounds and 11 oz and was 24 inches long. He is growing like a weed and is quite a big boy. We survived his shots without problems. He surprised me and only cried for a minute while getting the 3 shots and then he was done. No fevers, no nothing. I did not even have to give him any tylenol. He is a trooper already. At 2 months old, Austin is beginning to stay awake longer throughout the day. He coos and smiles at us. Since Austin can hold his neck up pretty well on his own, I decided to try and see if he was up to sitting in the Bumbo seat. I wasn't sure if he was big enough yet or would be able to do it, but here he is. After a while his head is a bit wobbly, but he loves it for a short while. Like I mentioned earlier. He is getting to be a big boy. He is growing up so fast already. Where does the time go?

Here is a picture of Savannah holding her "baby" brother. She could not be any prouder to be a "big" sister. She absolutely adores Austin and continues to do really well with him.

Oh, and by the way, last week was my first week back to work. WOw, what a week it was. I would have to say that it kicked both Ricky and I's buns. We were exhausted and hopefully it will get easier or at least maybe we will get back into a new routine. We will keep you posted.
