Birthday Party #1

Sunday, we had a birthday party for Savannah. This party was in Terre Haute at our good friend, Marcy's house. She has a pool and the day ended up being a beautiful day for a pool party. Lots of good friends showed up and I believe everyone there had a wonderful time.

My friend, Melissa, from work, has an awesome sister who made Savannah her Elmo cake. This cake was not only awesome looking, but it tasted just as yummy. I recommend her for cakes.

Notice how she is making Elyse feed her with a fork. Initially she stuck her hand in and got icing on her fingers and Savannah being the girly girl she is did not like this.

Friday Night Fun!

Friday night, we got together with our friends, Amy, Tommy and Alana. We got to go to an Indians Baseball game in Indianapolis. At first, we were a little unsure, thinking we were going to get rained out, but it ended up being a fantastic night. The rain held off and the weather was beautiful. We got lawn seats and the girls loved it. They got to stand, dance, and play with one another. They loved it when the music went off and got to clap and dance around. They were a true hit.

Here we are waving our arms and hands and making noise, trying to get the people on the field to throw us a ball or t-shirt or something. I guess we were not big and noticeable enough because we got nothing. Oh well, maybe next time. We had a great time at the game and to our surprise when the game was over, they had Friday night fireworks. These fireworks were the best I had seen in a long time. They were directly over us and it was quite the performance. Both girls just laid there in amazement and loved every moment. Definitely a great night with the family and some friends.

August 6, 2009

Today was Savannah's 2nd birthday. We cannot believe that our "little girl" is already 2. I know when she was a baby that people always told us and continue to tell us that it flies by, but you don't realize it. It really does fly by quickly. Thursday when I got home from work that morning, daddy and Savannah were already up and drinking their milk and watching a cartoon. Mommy gave Savannah some balloons and then we let Savannah have a cupcake for breakfast. We put candles in the cupcake and sang her Happy Birthday. She loved it and the fact that she got a cupcake for breakfast. What a wonderful day. Mommy then went to bed and Savannah and Ricky played. Later that night we went to St Mary of the Woods and had a friend take some family pictures. We had an awesome time and even got to see and pet some Alpaca's and horses too. Savannah loved petting and watching the horses run. After pictures we went to dinner at Red Lobster. Savannah had yet another surprise. They sang happy birthday to her again and gave her some dessert. I think she could do this birthday dessert thing everyday. She loves it when you sing happy birthday to her and when you are done she says more, more, more please.Happy Birthday Savannah! Mommy and Daddy love you.

10 year Anniversary

August 3, 2009 was the 1o year anniversary of my father's death. Although I can remember it just like it happened yesterday, at the same time it seems like dad has been gone forever. I know I am not the only one who thinks of my dad and what life would be like if he were still around today. My dad was a great father, husband, and friend. I wish he was only around to see how his family has grown and what we have all accomplished in life. All his friends and family miss him greatly. Before this anniversary on a nice day, we decided to take Savannah to see her Grandpa Ozzie. She knows or at least we have been trying to teach her that Grandpa Ozzie is in heaven. Here she is rubbing the stone and before we left she even bent over and kissed him. Your family misses you and hopes to see again someday.

Family Time!

The end of July brought together some family time. My cousin, Abby got committed to Alison at the beginning of July in Hawaii. Then when back in Indiana, they held a reception party at Turkey Run. Since Turkey Run is closer to Terre Haute than Muncie is my sister and her family came over and spent the weekend with us. It was a lot of fun with a lot of children around, which equals for some crazy times.
Here is Savannah on the dance floor clapping her hands. She really enjoyed the YMCA and the chicken dance. She loved watching and dancing with the other people. She thought she was pretty cool.Sunday, before the Miller's headed home, we got to spend some time outdoors. It was a great sunny day. Here are Chloe and Libby in the pool. They are adventurous and Chloe just follows Libby around and does whatever she does. Chloe will do anything, while Savannah just stood back and observed the two girls playing. Guess Savannah is kind of a wimp and girly girl.
Little man, well not so little, Isaiah just chilled in the chair and soaked up some sunrays.Here is Savannah enjoying her time with her cousins, just sitting back relaxing and watching from afar.After some play time, we all had some lunch. The girls loved sitting at the picnic table enjoying some peanut butter and jelly and yogurt. After lunch, the girls were getting tired and cranky, so the Miller's packed up and headed back to Muncie.
