Happy Father's Day!

Ricky is such an awesome dad to our daughter, Savannah. Almost 3 years ago, he would say no I am not having a kid, no not anytime soon. Remember that? Then we or should I say I became pregnant and our world changed. From the moment she was born, he has been nothing but a pro. There is no question in my mind that Savannah loves her daddy so much. Here are just a few pictures that I have taken this week that show the love between one another.
Here is Savannah in her room ready to play with daddy some more after a good napping session.
Here we are on Sunday getting ready to gear up to go swimming at the neighbors pool. We got up this morning and fixed daddy some pancakes for breakfast. Then headed to the pool for a bit. Daddy has to go to work later this afternoon so we are enjoying him while he is home.
#1 dad of the year in Savannah's world. He does a wonderful job and I, as a mom, could not have picked anyone more qualified. We love you, Ricky:)

Wes Vigo Baseball

West Vigo High School's baseball team made the state finals this year and played at Victory Field on Saturday. Throughout this season, Ricky was a big fan. He covered almost all the games. He became friends with a few of the players and their families through the year. He introduced me and Savannah to several of them. Here we are Saturday in Indy at Victory Field to watch the game. It was a hot and nice day outside. Daddy was in plain green because he was working, but Savannah and I are supporting the team with our green Vikings gear. The 2009 West Vigo game was unable to pull off the win and were the runners up. The team, however, had a great season and deserve a job well done.

Our new little nephew and cousin...

Baby Isaiah Edward Miller was born to Kelly and Dave Miller on June 2, 2009. He weighed in at 8 pounds even. His proud sister's are Libby, 4 years, and Chloe, 2 years old. His favorite Aunt Robin, Uncle Ricky, and Cousin Savannah went to Muncie to see him. He was born on a Tuesday night and we met him at his first arrival to home on Friday afternoon. Of course most of the time he was sleeping, but we did get a few good glimpses of him with his eyes open. Not really sure who he resembles in the family. In some pictures I see Kelly and others I see Dave. Guess time will tell and his appearance will change. This little guy is the first boy addition to the family. No Way will he be spoiled.


Here is Savannah hanging out with her little cousin, Isaiah. Isaiah's sisters were not home, they were at Nanny's for the weekend. Nanny was letting mom and dad get settled in and at least some sleep before the girls headed home. Savannah loved the baby, but was a little unsure when he would cry. Whenever Savannah would hold Isaiah, she was in total concentration mood. She would not smile or even look up at you, she just focused on holding the little guy.
The weekend before we went over to Ricky's aunt and uncles house. Here is Savannah with her other cousins, Tanner and Tye. She loves playing with Tye and Tanner.

Project #1 of Many

The first project I decided we were going to work on was the deck. Since it has not been too hot outside and Savannah loves playing outside on her swing set, the backyard deck was a priority. This is a picture of the deck before.
Ricky's parents were a huge help in putting this deck together. We would not have been able to do it without their help. We started on Mother's Day weekend and the whole project took about 4 weekends in a row to complete. Rick used the set up from the old deck and added more frame work for a bottom, extended layer. Ricky did most of the laying new boards down and screwing them down tight. He did a good job and actually learned some and enjoyed it at the same time.

This was one of the weekends, we were both off and we both got to work on the deck together. I think we were in competition here to see who could get done first. The next picture is the completed project. We are enjoying some time with family and friends. All we need now is some patio furniture.


Rick is cooling off in Savannah's pool after all his hard work. We love our new deck and hope to have many opportunities enjoying it.

Savannah has had lots of enjoyment out of her swing set since we have managed to get it together. Here she is peeking out and saying hello to daddy. Aren't her flowers beautiful?
Savannah has also accomplished climbing her wall all by herself. She is quite the monkey climbing machine.A few weeks ago Laynie even came over to play on the swing set with Savannah. They had a blast playing with one another. Here they are sliding down. Laynie acts like a little mother when she is around Savannah.
