Bye Bye Paci

Last week while I was on vacation, we decided that no time was better to get rid of the paci. Of course it was the most traumatic thing in Savannah's world. Because the weather was so nasty outside, we did not take the paci's to the hospital for the babies as planned, but instead we placed them in the trash for the trashman to deliver them to the babies. We had Savannah put all her paci's in a ziplock baggie and then she herself placed them in the trash, saying bye bye. Daddy then gave her a surprise and while he was doing this mommy pulled them out of the trash (just in case this did not work). That afternoon was by far the worst. Nap time was a disaster, 2 hours and 10 minutes after crying and asking for paci or daddy, she was asleep. Mommy was strong and did not give in. That night when daddy got home we figured we were in for a long hall in the bedtime process, however, to our surprise it was easy. Only 10 minutes and she was fast asleep. The next few days were tons better, she would ask for it, but we would tell her she is a big girl and that would be the end. She is doing super without it. Actually now that the paci is gone, we rock her and she usally falls alseep in less than 10 minutes and then we put her in her big girl bed. She used to end up in our bed, but now she sleeps in her bed all night long. The bad thing is she gets up earlier than normal, I guess I cannot complain because it is 9:00 but if you know Ricky and I that is early for us. Savannah is growing up and we could not be any prouder.
